This is my first year attending prom and im going with my senior boyfriend...im a junior. and im REALLY EXCITED! but i found out that only a few people are purchasing princess dresses...but my mom reminded me that this night is about me and no one else. i just dont wanna look stupid in it...
So my main concerns include dancing in a princess dress [like twerking and watnot] and just enjoying myself at prom with all that crinoline. lol.
I let the dress thing suppress my feelings for prom. but um i kinda just wanna know exactly how you dance in a poofy dress and your experiences or just information that could help me and change my views i guess...and if possible can you PLZ talk about your first prom experience. THANX SO MUCH!!!
btw: i like my poofy dress...i jus feel awkward going to the beat of my own drum. lol

As Prom is getting nearer, I continue to look for a dress. I found one early on, but once I found it it was over $350, I decided it might be time to find one less expensive. What are some good prom dress websights, or prom brands even, that offer pretty dresses, as well as good prices. I for sure would like to buy a "princess" dress.

im 16 years old and my junior prom is coming up on april 24th, i really want a big poofy princess dress but one that doesnt look cheap. my budget for a dress is $200 and i am small (size 3-4) but tall (5'6). All of the pretty poofy dresses that i've recently found were way over $200 , there's no way i'm paying that much for one night. I really like to stand out which is why i want one with sparkles or glitter on it. I found the perfect dress on www.tiffanydesigns.com Style #1691074 in limeade sprinkle....i love that dress so much but when i priced it on different websites it was always soooooo expensive....i really love that dress, so maybe someone could help me find that dress for 200 or another one thats similar....please help (to see the dress ...http://www.tiffanydesigns.com/gallery/Spring_2009_Collections.html)

This is a picture of me (sorry about the cheesy grin):

Anyway, I've picked a few dresses for prom and also have to wear the same dress to a local pageant for Juniors and Seniors at our high school. It's not quite the typical beauty pageant and it's focused more on elegance and poise rather than that crazy stuff you see on TLC's Toddlers and Tiaras. But the reason I also bring up the pageant is because I'm a little fearful about the bright lights and a pale dress and me being blonde.
I plan on leaving my hair as it was in the picture above or trying something like this:

Lastly, I'm 5'10", 140 lbs, but will probably be closer to 135 at that time because track will have started and I run distance. So anyway, on to the dresses.

(The reviews all say that the dress is darker/richer in color in person.)

(My only problem with this one is that I'm not a fan of fuchsia.)

(I'm thinking about getting this one in aqua, or would the color shown be better for me?)

(This one will be in black, you can scroll through the pictures to see it.)
So yeah, which one is your favorite? I'm looking for something that will be flattering and also a little bit different than the plain poofy princess dress but all the same very elegant.

I want to wear a beaded, strapless, puffy princess dress for prom. Is that outdated? Like, several years ago it was the hot thing, but nowadays it seems like girls are all wearing short little party dresses instead of classic ball gowns. What would you think if I took a modern twist on this classic ballgown look and got it shortened to knee length, but still kinda puffy all around. This way it'd be more modern, but still a princess look. What do you think?
