i'd like a really elegant prom gown with some pretty sleeves in a midnight blue or emerald green in a UK size 4
i'm open to other colours you think might suit me as i have pale skin and black hair in a katie holmes style bob

I am looking for a dress for my senior prom. I want something in the realms of what young Hollywood would wear to a party (vannessa hudgens, ashley tisdale, etc.) I don't want anything froo froo, what is typically seen at proms. i want something chic and NO WINDSOR!!

Ok, so the problem is that I know what work for me. I'm skinny with a narrow waist but an hour-glass figure. So I look really good in dresses that flare out below the waist instead of the new a-line goddess dresses. I'm also really pale with dark hair, so I look really good in bright colors.
I know what colors I want (bold purple/plum or emerald green/olive.
I also know which style flatter me (bubble skirts, empire cut dresses, etc)
The problem is that I don't want to look like anyone else (so I want to stay away from long frill princess dresses, or the classic glamourous empire cut dresses in tafetta, satin, etc). I really don't like the metallicy lame fabric or the sequins/beads that are everywhere.I don't mind a few, but too much and I can't do anything interesting with my hair. In reality, I'm thinking of a short dress because that would look unique. However, I'm always in short funky dresses for other dances, so I don't want to look like how I usually do. Any ideas?

I know. I'm a tough cookie. If it helps, I would be willing to wear something simple if it was funky, and then I could add a peacock or ostrick feather headband/fascinator, and ankle boots.
I love some of the dresses you guys are giving me, but I do want to make two points (I am so whiny, I know).
a) I want to stand out, so I'm not really a big fan of simple dresses. None sequin and glitter and bead encrusted, yes. But it's my prom. I don't want to wear the same dress as I would to homecoming, or just out to a party
b) I have no intention of looking like a fairy tale princess or ballerina. Tiaras make be break out in hives (not so with feather headbands and fingertip veils *hint hint*)

Im getting married in a few weeks, i am having a simple picnic like wedding outside and have a simple peach dress i was going to wear. but if i could find a peach prom dress or wedding dress or even a white one that is full length(mines just past knees) under$100 i might consider changing what I wear.
